Hollywood stars encourge youngsters to smoke?!

Because hollywood stars (or any other type of star/celebrity) are smoking in films, stges, everywhere, they’re encouraging young children to smoke! Because they look ‘cool’, ‘stunning’, ‘smart’ and ‘sexy’ they are making children want to look the same. Do we really want these children to die young?! In our/my opinion we should ban smoking in films, at LEAST!

So, do you think this should carry on? Or do you want it to stop? Your opinion counts.

Landlady Fined For Smokers In Pub

A pub landlady pleaded guilty to failing to prevent smoking in a smoke free premises. She was fined £8O + an extra £165 costs

Did she deserve it ?? What do you think?

Cigarette packaging change???

People are complaining about how cigarette packets are too glitzy and fancy.

They think that, if they were plain with just the brand name and a health warning, they wouldn’t be as attractive to young people.

Do you think that young people are less likely to buy ciggies if they were in a plain packet rather than a colourful one?

Surrey Community Police have been given the power to search smokers.

It is mainly aimed at younger people who are carrying alcohol and tobacco.

Caffeine is the substance found in tea, coffee and energy drinks. Did you know not only can it keep you awake but in high doses it can make you feel anxious and panicky?

Energy drinks are very high in caffeine and has as much caffeine as an esspresso (REALLY strong thick coffee!)

Sugar Swap!

We all know we shouldn’t have too much sugary food and drinks but how can we still satisfy our sweet tooth without having too much sugar??

DRINKS

Swap from sugary drinks to no added sugar drinks such as water, milk (ideally semi-skimmed) unsweetened fruit juice or even sugar free fizzy drinks. (Did you know a can of coke contains 8 tea spoons of sugar?!)

SNACKS

Opt for snacks without added sugar such as fruit, unsalted nuts, breadsticks, rice cakes or toast, instead of sweets, biscuits, chocolate, cakes and pastries.

BREAKFAST

Change to lower sugar cereals or other breakfast options like fruit or toast

DESSERT

Swap from sugary desserts like chocolate, biscuits and cake to less sugary desserts, like yoghurt or fruit.
