Arguing with siblings and parents

Over the holidays many of you will find yourself spending more time with your siblings and parents, which can sometimes cause friction. If you do fall out, here are some tips-

  • Allow each person to have their say
  • Don’t invlove people it doesn’t concern
  • Stick to the subject in hand, don’t bring up past arguments
  • Suggest a compromise, e.g. have the Xbox for an hour each
  • Remain respectful. Even if you fall out remember this is still someone you care about
  • Don’t shout or act agressively toward the other person or to items around you
  • Explaining rationally why you said/ feel/ reacted how you did
  • Discuss the problem until you come up with a solution, walking away or slamming doors does not reslove anything

Remember- life is too short to argue and be mad at people you care about, so try to put arguements behind you and go and enjoy yourselves!
