Alcohol is made from fruits, vegetables or grain.
If you are under 18 it is illegal for someone to sell you alcohol, and illegal for someone else to buy it for you.
Alcohol plays a big part in antisocial behaviour and there are laws to tackle people who are drunk and disorderly. Young people in possession of alcohol can have their drinks confiscated by the police.
Many young people are rushed to hospital to have their stomach pumped after drinking too much alcohol. It is even possible to drink so much that you can even stop breathing!
A lot of people do silly and embarrassing things when they are drunk. Quite often, these are things that they regret. A lot of fighting in the street and violence in the home happens because alcohol affects your mood and can make people aggressive.
